Student Programs

Museum on Main Student Programs augment the classroom curriculum by providing State Standard linked hands-on experiences using original artifacts, replica artifacts, historical photographs, and unique activities to engage students.

Museum on Main offers a variety of guided tours and in class programs to suit the needs of your group.  If you do not find a specific tour or program you are interested in, please let us know.
 
To Reserve a Guided Tour or Traveling Trunk please contact the Director of Education with a few dates, times, and topic for your desired guided tour or the week(s) you would like to reserve a Traveling Trunk: education@museumonmain.org or 925-462-2766.  We will make every effort to reschedule your tour in case of inclement weather.


School Tours

Experience history with Guided School Tours!
School tours are available by reservation Monday through Friday with start times of 9:30 am or 12:00 noon.  Chaperones are required to accompany school/youth tours, one chaperone to five students.  Tour space is limited to 25 students, their chaperones, and teacher.  School tours can also be modified for Scout Troops.

Traveling Trunks

A Mini-Museum in your classroom!
Traveling Trunks are packed full of original and replica artifacts, historical photographs, activity ideas, educational materials, music, dress-up clothes, and more!  Teachers may book trunks on a weekly basis and may share within the school.  Maximum 2 weeks/school.
