Scout Programs

Museum on Main welcomes Boy and Girl Scouts throughout the year!  Whether your group is working on a journey project, trying to earn a badge or belt loop, or just want to have some fun with history our scout program is a perfect option.

Many students visit the Museum on Main as part of their 3rd Grade Local History Studies, therefore we have an alternative program so students are not repeating the same information.

Cost:  $10 per scout, Parents are free.  (Museum on Main patch and program supplies are included in the price for each paying scout.)

Requirments: There is a 10 scout minimum. If your scout group is less than 10 children, your group will be required to pay the minimum cost of $100.  Two weeks advance booking is required for all scout programs.

Heritage  (Girl Scouts of various levels, Tiger Cubs- "Go See It", Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts- belt loop or academic pin) This 2 hour program is designed to introduce Scouts to the people who lived in the community in the past, including the way people lived, worked, and played in times past.  Students examine and identify artifacts from the period, learn about entertainment of the past, and create a simple old time toy they take home.

Collecting  (Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts- Boy Scout Belt Loop or Pin) In this 90 minute program Scouts will learn about Collections from a museum professional, including care, storage, and display of collections including a behind-the-scenes peek at the museum collections room and archives.  Scouts are invited to bring their own collection along to present to their fellow scouts and get advice from museum professionals about the care of their collections.

Custom Program- Let us know if you have a specific topic you are seeking to address.  We can work together to create a custom program for your group. Note: The cost of a custom program may vary depending on what is developed.
