Envelope sealer
Even today, most mailing envelopes are made with an adhesive that has to be moistened before sealing. Licking the envelope is fine for just a few letters, but gets much harder when you have dozens or more to send at once. The wheel of this moistener is suspended over a water-filled tray; spinning the wheel provides a wet surface ready to moisten any stamp or envelope for sealing.
