Baptismal font
In most Christian sects, baptism involves some application of consecrated water (sprinkling, pouring, or immersion) and an invocation of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the last often represented by a dove) to wash away sin and initiate a new member into the faith. This font holds a small basin for holy water to be sprinkled or poured onto the head of the church’s new member.
