A Discussion with... Voices featured in Cruising Down Memory Lane: Stories of Pleasanton in the 1950s
Date: Wednesday November 15th *limited space / advance sign up required to attend
Time: 5 pm- 7 pm
Location: Museum on Main
Join us and have a fun and informative evening out on Wednesday, November 15, 5:00 to 7:00 pm and hear personal stories of Pleasanton life in the 1950s! There is no charge to attend and there will be a brief reception after hearing the panel.
What was it like to live in the small country town of Pleasanton in the 1950s? Where did the panelists’ families come from, and why did they settle here? How did they make a living? What was life like then? Donna Kamp McMillion, who initiated this book project of capturing about 40 stories, with the help of the Museum and her 50 volunteers, will lead a panel of six members of “old-time” families whose stories are in the 400-page book, “Cruising Down Memory Lane: Stories of Pleasanton in the 1950s.”
Make your reservation now by contacting the Museum on Main so you won’t miss out hearing the panelists talk about fun, poignant and sometimes amazing stories that will take you back in time…and make you smile. Seating space is limited to 50. Please call the museum at 925 462-2766 to reserve your spot.
The handsome book would be a perfect holiday gift for family, friends, or business associates. Proceeds from book sales ($38.50 each) benefit Amador Valley’s Journalism program and are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. The fiscal agent is Three Valleys Community Foundation.
