Imagination Expressed 2021

Welcome to the Pleasanton Art League’s annual show at Museum on Main! Ever since its establishment in 1969, PAL has worked to foster the visual arts in Pleasanton through exhibitions, classes and workshops, and other programming for its members and the public.
In 2008, PAL teamed up with Pleasanton’s Museum on Main to host an exhibit of the latest works from the Tri-Valley art community’s rising talents and established artists. That show, the first Imagination Expressed, gave birth to a yearly tradition, and you are about to witness its latest iteration.

Despite still having our galleries closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we wanted to make sure there was no gap in this annual tradition. Therefore we put this year's exhibit online, dividing the works by medium into digital galleries for our visitor to tour. Click on one of the category buttons below to see works in that medium.

Imagination Expressed is not a juried exhibition. No panel of judges decides which works will be displayed. Any PAL member can participate. Over the years the exhibition has included painting, drawing, photography, basketry, ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture in a wide variety of materials and styles.

The Pleasanton Art League and Museum on Main thank you for visiting this online presentation of Imagination Expressed 2021, and we hope that the art on display not only brings you pleasure but also inspires your own creativity. These works are part of Pleasanton’s ongoing history, an expression of the community’s spirit and imagination at this moment in time: reflecting on the past, capturing the present, and exploring visions of the future.

Many of the works on display here are available for purchase; if you are interested, please contact the Museum by phone or email (curator@museumonmain.org).
